We are currently in the planning stages for nippers this season. Again we are facing the ever changing scenery with COVID19 and like last season want to make sure we have another safe and fun filled season. Due to the current uncertainty we have decided that our nippers program won’t start until January this season.
Nippers will commence on Tuesday the 18 th of January 2022 (Subject to CHO directions).
Nippers will be running to the same format as last season with the split groups every Tuesday nights
as follows:

  • Session 1 – 5 pm to 5:45 pm – U/6, U/7, U/8 & U/9’s
  • Session 2 – 6 pm to 6:45 pm – U/10, U/11, U/12 & U/13’s

We will have capped numbers per age group with exact numbers to be advised. QR check in will be mandatory for each nipper and parent.
Prior to our first session there will be a Preliminary Swim assessment that is mandatory for each nipper to complete prior to our first session on the 19 th of January 2022.
We will have a number of days that you will be able to choose from to get you nipper assessed and don’t forget your child’s swimming teacher can also sign off on these too. Dates to be advised.
To ensure we can run our nippers program we really need more parent/career assistance/involvement in particular the role of Age Manger. Without sufficient Age Mangers this season we will not be able to run every age group, as a minimum we require 2 per age group but I would really like to have at least 3-4 per age group as this caters for when an Age Manager is
unavailable etc.

Please note you don’t need any prior Surf Life Saving experience to be an Age Manager.
I will be running an Age Managers course prior to the start of nippers (Nov/Dec) and you will also have plenty of support from myself and our other experienced age managers.
We will require COVID safety officers for each session so will be also looking for some volunteers from both Session 1 and 2 to fill this very important role too. Other roles we require help with is the BBQ, Setting up prior to nippers and the packing up, admin assistance. If you’re able to assist with any of these roles please let me know also.
We will again be using Team App for all our nipper correspondence and updates so please ensure you request access to your nipper’s age group so if required we can send information specifically about your nippers age group.
