Join our club
South Melbourne Life Saving Club is a fun, family-friendly club that is focused on training lifesavers, providing rescue services and developing young Australians through surf lifesaving water safety, leadership and training programs. We value our supportive, collegiate and social club culture and welcome new members.
Your annual membership fees ensure the Club has the vital lifesaving equipment, can train members to provide lifesaving services and deliver program such as nippers.
On joining members are encouraged to become involved in the activities of the Club – volunteer lifesaving, nippers, fundraising, social get-togethers
You can join at any age and become a lifesaver. At 13 years you can complete a Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC), from 15 years you can complete your Bronze Medallion (BM). Once completed you will then patrol and can get involved in
competition.
From 5 years you can join as a Nipper

Becoming a surf life saver is satisfying, fun and rewarding. You can lead a fit and healthy lifestyle, develop surf and aquatic safety skills, first aid and emergency care skills, make new friends, compete in surf sports, and give something back to the community. You may also help save someone’s life one day.
Parents of Nippers join as Associate members or through a Family Membership.
How to Join
Step 1 – Obtain or update your Working With Children Check – this is mandatory.
We cannot process your membership
application until we receive evidence of your update/application. You can forward us
the email acknowledgement you receive.
Step 2: - Join via SLSA
Every member needs to be registered individually. Go to SLS Member Hub set up an account and enter your details.
